About Dubai Spine Masters What is Dubai Spine Masters? Dubai Spine Masters (DSM) is an international platform for spine surgeons and professionals from around the world to stay up-to-date on cutting-edge technologies and management strategies. Each year, DSM invites a number of key global opinion leaders (Masters) to a themed event, who in turn design and lead a world-class academic agenda for spine surgeons and professionals from around the world to discuss, debate and demonstrate the most recent advances in spine surgery. The theme for the 2012 course is complex spinal reconstruction and deformity management strategies. What is the format for DSM? DSM utilizes a highly interactive format entailing evidence-based expert instructional lectures, complex case studies, Masters’ panel discussions and knowledge forums. Practical sessions with hands-on demonstrations from leading manufactures and led by the course’s elite faculty, as well as optional post-congress cadaveric workshops (multiple vendors) are also employed to showcase the latest surgical strategies and techniques. In addition to a world-class academic program and all-star faculty, DSM also strives to live up to Dubai’s brand for 5-star hospitality. From the choice of a state-of-the-art venue with the latest AV equipment to luxury catering and gala, attendees are treated to a spectacular level of service in true Dubai fashion. Who attends DSM? DSM is a Masters’ platform designed primarily for experienced spine surgeons (both neurological and orthopaedic surgeons) from around the world; with surgeons from 54 countries and 6 continents attending in 2011. Spine fellows, residents, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, engineers and members of industry are also invited to attend. What language is spoken? All presentations and course materials is in English. Is there CME? How do I get my certificate? DSM is an ACCME accredited CME event. At the end of the meeting, delegates will be required to complete a short online post event evaluation form to claim their credits and download their attendance and CME certificates in PDF format. Both a secure online option is available as well as a PDF form that may be completed and either emailed or faxed. Housing Is there a group rate? Where do I reserve? A block of discounted rooms has been reserved for DSM delegates at the 2 headquarter hotels: InterContinental and Crown Plaza Dubai Festival City. Both are 5-stars hotels, though the InterContinental has some additional luxury amenities. The hotels are adjacent and share a large conference center at the lobby level, which is where the meeting will take place. The DSM group rate at the InterContinental is AED 750 ($205) for a deluxe room, single or double occupancy, and AED 650 ($177) for the same at the Crown Plaza. These rates include all taxes and daily full buffet breakfast. The rates are available for DSM delegates 3 days before and after the meeting, subject to availability.
