Daniel
Monte-Serrat Prevedello, MD,
received his medical degree from
the Federal University of Parana
in Curitiba, Brazil. At his
graduation he had already done a
clerkship in the Department of
Neurosurgery of the University
of Bari in Italy and an
internship rotation in general
surgery at the Wayne State
University in Detroit, MI. He
completed his neurological
surgery residency at the
Hospital Nossa Senhora das
Gracas in Curitiba in Brazil in
2004 under the direction of Joao
Candido Araujo, MD, PhD, who is
a U.S. board-certified
neurosurgeon.
Dr. Prevedello joined the
University of Pittsburgh
Department of Neurological
Surgery in August of 2006 after
completing a clinical fellowship
at The University of Virginia in
neuroendocrine and pituitary
surgery with Edward R. Laws Jr.,
MD.
During his two years at UPMC, he
completed a fellowship in
minimally invasive skull base
surgery with Amin Kassam, MD.
Dr. Prevedello was named
training program director of the
Center for Skull Base Surgery
and associate director of
exovascular surgery in April of
2008.
