Professor Lindquist is a distinguished neurosurgeon and one of the pioneers of Gamma Knife Surgery. His experience in Gamma Knife Surgery spans 20 years at the Karolinska Institute in Sweden where he worked very closely with the late Professor Lars Leksell – founding father of the Gamma Knife. Prof. Lindquist is currently the Medical Director of the Gamma Knife Center at Cromwell Hospital; London’s and one of Europe’s leading private hospital.
Prof. Lindquist has authored several hundred publications in Neurophysiology, General Neurosurgery, and Radiosurgery, and serves on the board of many prestigious peer review editorials. He is active in organized neurosurgery and has served as President ofthe International Stereotactic Radiosurgery Society, and the Leksell Gamma Knife Society.
He was won many awards includingthe Fabrikant Award for achievements in radiosurgery by the International Stereotactic Radiosurgery Society, Lars Lekselllectureship by the Karolinska Institute, and Pioneers in Radiosurgery by the Leksell Gamma Knife Society.
Prof. Lindquist obtained his medical degree and Ph.D. in Physiology from the prestigious Karolinska Institute in Sweden in 1973. He underwent neurosurgical residency training at both the Karolinska Hospital and the University of Texas, and later joined the faculty of both institutions.
