From the occipitocervical junction to the sacrum, this masters’ update demonstrates state-of-the-art management techniques for complex spine disorders, under the instruction of world-renowned innovators and leaders in the field; including the academic leadership of this year’s prestigious partnering societies: the Scoliosis Research Society, Cervical Spine Research Society and AO Spine.

The 2012 course emphasis is state-of-the-art complex spine reconstruction and deformity management strategies, including degenerative spine diseases, scoliosis, trauma, tumors and motion sparing devices. The course utilizes an integrated approach to the cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine pathology and state-of-the-art surgical management strategies. The role of MISS and a variety of treatment techniques affecting the elderly and pediatric patients will also be covered, with perspectives on treatments and outcomes measures that offer new insights for even the most experienced surgeon.

The 5-star academic program entails 3 days of evidence-based instructional lectures, complex case studies, Masters’ panel discussions and knowledge forums. Practical sessions with hands-on demonstrations led by the course’s elite faculty as well as cadaveric workshops (multiple vendors) will further enable participants to familiarize themselves with the latest surgical strategies and instrumentation techniques.
